HEARTBREAKS&REJECTIONS

Image
Heartbreaks are setbacks to the strong and a motivation to the weak to be to strong and firm in heart in the cause of this phase. Imagine a world of 100 million people and 85% of them are broken by invincible elements which torments them into becoming monsters and slaves to their various master all in the name of falling in love.       Rejection is an act of refusal or abandonment of one's self or personal desires and this has caused alot of people to drive away from the four walls of sanity and end up with choices of suicide, mental damage and self harm. Have you ever been rejected before? Have you ever loved someone to the point you don't see that person leaving your life soon? Wake up bro nothing lasts forever even the peaceful nights talk more of a mortal with choices of a human. All those answers will be hurtful when you play the yes card and get checked up with by depression and it's followers.    I've been broken and rejected so many times that i could fe

Image
This year has been a breakout year for young creatives in Nigeria like Rema,Joeboy,Fireboy etc and ictooicy who's a song writer& recording artiste won't be left out of the conversation.        “Misunderstood” was her first track and you can't deny the self described poet had her prowls in song writing with a minimal balance of creative flows and soothing rhythms. Her music kept growing all year on playlists and music charts and even performed to an energetic crowd at SummerFiesta 2019 with her lyrics sang word for word. Her last single “Melancholy Baby”, a broken sad love song kept is blessing the gods of music for her existence in the Music Industry. GET TO KNOW ABOUT GOSHA GUPPY.

Image
Born in 2000 to Haitian parents, Zach Bernagene has led a winding life interacting with the cultural extrema of New York City. Growing up in an apartment building with “one drug-dealer on every floor,” Guppy wrestled with institutional forces pushing him to rap or ball. Bernagene, at first, chose books. Upon his admittance to an elite Upper West Side private high school, and subsequently, to Washington University of St. Louis, Guppy became known on his block not as a rapper, but as “the kid who got into college.” One foot in East Flatbush and the other in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Bernagene’s music would attempt to reconcile the chasm between these two vastly different lives. Gosha Guppy would bridge this divide. Bernagene came of age alongside the democratic streaming service Soundcloud, a platform that would revolutionize the way hip-hop was produced and consumed. It obliterated the barrier to entry and allowed aspiring rappers to instantly have listeners. Subgenres a

REVIEW ON “TOY GUN” EP BY MIDE MICHAEL'S X BEEZY

Image
My review on the debut EP of my friend, brother and creative partner Mide Michael. The EP titled “Toygun”  was an amazing listening experience and it might just be the most beautiful projects to come out of Nigeria in recent times. Growing up together at the Prestigious St Finbarrs College Akoka I have watched Mide grow from a Wizkid Fanatic and Superfan to an Amazing musician with insane vocals. Mide is an RnB Artiste by default, but he is very good with blending different sounds together without losing touch of his artistry and originality. All tracks in this EP was produced by Beezy. Track 1 : Pieces. In this song Mide goes back to his RnB roots, even tho this is not the contemporary RnB 90’s kids we are used to, this is the new form of RnB heavily influenced by Hip Hop. Following the footsteps of his foreign counterparts such as Bryson Tiller and Partynextdoor. He sings about his feelings after a failed call to his mistress, his wild lifestyle and his great desire t

Monique Kidd is an art illustrator who's currently attending an art institution in Jamaica. We spoke at length about her inspirations and challenges. Tell us about yourself? Monique Kidd: I'm an individual that basically lives her life for art and art only. I don't have much hobbies unless observing the people around me for inspiration  counts. I attend an art institution that is on the verge of driving me crazy but I live for the experience and somewhere along the line I still find time to work as a part time illustrator. At what point did you discover your gift of Art? Monique Kidd: I really remember  discovering my gift. It just happened, one day I just decided that drawin

ÍRÈ

Image
Tmol '18.    Good evening readers and a Happy Poetry day.  “ÍRÉ” a poem written by Daniel Nnaemeka. ÍRÉ.... Do not curse these scars, he might have held the knife, but it was you who showed him where to cut thinking that to love was to lose yourself to his fire. Don't judge the game, when you haven't held a console, nothing lasts forever, same as the word “forever” illusions take the better part of dreams, obsession takes depression to the aisle. Everyone dies in their nightmares, don't be scared of rejection, it's a numb action which requires tears, sadness and sorrow which makes nothing, happiness is free but not promised. The soul attracts that which it secretly habours, that which is love, attention, and also that which it fears, it reaches the height of its cherished aspirations. Be positive and enjoy your growth, the road might be rocky, but the end like honey, the sweetness of yaweh's grace, is forever sufficient in m

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION.

Image
After the Socialist Party Of America organized a Women's Day on February 28, 1909, in New York, the 1910   International Socialist Woman's Conference suggested a Women's Day be held annually. After women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917, March 8 became a national holiday there. The day was then predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted in 1975 by the United Nations.  Today, International Women's Day is a public holiday in some countries and largely ignored elsewhere. In some places, it is a day of protest; in others, it is a day that celebrates womanhood. It Signifies Civil awareness day,Women and girls day, Anti-sexism day and Anti-Discrimination day for Women all over the World.

BURNA BOY DANGOTE LYRICS VIDEO.

Image
African's Giant Damini “Burna Boy” Ogulu just released his new single “Dangote” after dropping his smash hit “Killin Dem” featuring Zlatan ibile. This new single has left many asking his reasons for naming his single after African's Richest Man Aliko Dangote.      “Dangote still dey find money” is a catchy line in the song. I think this is related with the previous achievement of Aliko Dangote who made $5bn in 24 hours which is mind bursting.  Watch the lyrics video for Dangote. Enjoy

DAMNATION

Image
A poem composed and written by a patriotic Nigerian Lydia George titled “DAMNATION”. This shows her concern over the Previous Elections held in Nigeria on the 23rd February 2019. The chaos, blood sheds and many unforseen experiences that occurred during the cause of the Presidential elections.                                                              Once again,  The dark clouds hover upon my nation,  It weeps for our damnation Washing away blood spilled by our brother and sisters, To make sure there is a win for a certain mister. I see no hope today, Today I see no wins, As a nation, we have lost, We sold our wins to our damnation. And tomorrow once again we shall pray. God save us all, Those are the lyrics to new song, The drums will be the gun shots, And the piano will be the wails, We shall sing the songs of sorrow once again. On a day of new beginnings, We have served ourselves with hot bowls of curses and shame, Served with a glass of blood, Later

REVIEW ON KAYLU'S DOUBLE HOMICIDE COVER.

Image
A look into kaylu's double homicide cover, sometime this year Mavin Records rapper Ladi Poe started a challenge for other rappers to drop covers of his track titled Double Homicide from his 2018 album which he featured Ghost of SDC on. Notable rappers released video covers of the song till the challenge ended. Well that was what we thought up until the fast rising rapper Kaylu came out of the blues and surprised us with his own cover he dropped as an audio on SoundCloud. Kaylu’s cover is one of the most notable because of his witty wordplays, impeccable flow and undiluted delivery. He also calls out all rappers in the cover, making it known to all that he is a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop game and isn’t coming to play this year. The cover is rumored to be a diss track to rappers and a few influential personalities. Kaylu has proven times without number that he is one of the top young acts to watch in the game. We do hope to see more from the young talented rappe

REVIEW OF ABSTRAKTT'S “ALLOW ME TO RAP”.

Image
“Allow me to rap about things that bothering me without any apologies to anyone who listens and won’t be pleased”        Abstract has just released new song and the timing couldn’t be better, right on the morning of the Nigerian Presidential election. The Artiste bares his mind in this new track leaving no area of the country uncritiqued. He calls out the Police for the Corruption and their brutality, the Politicians for the fake promises and corruption. He speaks about election violence and the Chibok Girls who have not still been rescued from the clutches of the nation’s biggest terrorists and how the soldiers are being provided with old guns. Abstract also goes ahead to speak about the two /more time unprofessionalism displayed in the house of assembly by our lawmakers. The artiste doesn’t just stop at the head of the country, he calls out us, yes us, the listeners for focusing on what is not important, He says “We are more concerned of Simi and Adekunle gold and wheth

CREATIVE TEARS

Image
the mind holds great potentials, the heart is the mother of destruction, the mind nurtures and knows the truth, but the heart accepts lies and deceit, why hurt your pen with tears over what people say? corrupt your mind with lies from your heart, validations from mortals are gateways to failure, but who doesn't want her squad to know about her ideas and dreams?? your creativity cries to escape judgement from the chain you put him,  it begs for mercy even when you know he's innocent, of the crime your peers accuse him off,  Rome wasn't built in a day, doesn't mean its foundation wasnt done in hours, drugs for the stress  then prayers for your redemption. never put out mediocre work for fame,  stop throwing bricks at glass houses, since you own one too,  patience can cook a stone.                                   -Nnaemeka Daniel.  Thank you for Reading.
