DAMNATION
A poem composed and written by a patriotic Nigerian Lydia George titled “DAMNATION”. This shows her concern over the Previous Elections held in Nigeria on the 23rd February 2019. The chaos, blood sheds and many unforseen experiences that occurred during the cause of the Presidential elections.
Once again,
The dark clouds hover upon my nation,
It weeps for our damnation
Washing away blood spilled by our brother and sisters,
To make sure there is a win for a certain mister.
I see no hope today,
Today I see no wins,
As a nation, we have lost,
We sold our wins to our damnation.
And tomorrow once again we shall pray.
God save us all,
Those are the lyrics to new song,
The drums will be the gun shots,
And the piano will be the wails,
We shall sing the songs of sorrow once again.
On a day of new beginnings,
We have served ourselves with hot bowls of curses and shame,
Served with a glass of blood,
Later we shall wash our hands in pain,
And by the time dinner is over , we shall suffer in our own
DAMNATION.
